Before reading about leg stretches, be sure to check out my article on warming up first.
Learning about stretching exercises is important, to keep nasty injuries away when you are working out. This is a serious topic, and should not be taken lightly.
Most people ignore the importance of stretching end up with muscle sprains and ligament tears, and blame it on everyone and everything else but themselves.
You are in control of your own health. Be sure that you prepare yourself by learning how to stretch your muscles. Leg stretches help loosen the muscles in your legs so that you can run, walk, climb and jump without suffering from post-activity aches.
What Stretching Exercises You Will Learn?
Since there are various muscle groups in our lower limbs, you need to perform different stretching exercises for the different muscles. Hence, I have divided them into four main subcategories:
Please take some time to go through each section thoroughly to make the most out of your flexibility training. Combining a proper warming up routine with leg exercises can ensure that you strengthen your lower limbs without getting injured.
This article might have been rather short (in comparison to my other articles) but it does not mean that it is less important. The statistics of muscle-related injuries are steadily climbing, and I honestly think that it is because there is not enough awareness.
Therefore, I urge you not to take this lightly. Injuring yourself can mean that you are not able to move properly for several weeks or months. You will constantly feel pain and discomfort while doing the simplest of tasks… It is terribly unpleasant.
Take some time to stretch – it will be one of the best investments you make for your health.
