Growing Organic Tomato Indoors

Tomatoes is a plant that grows during the warmer months only.  When it’s cold outside, tomatoes will no longer grow.  When this happen, for those who still want to grow tomatoes, the only other solution would be to grow them indoors.  Indoor gardening is not the same as growing them in a traditional garden especially for organic tomatoes.  Below are some helpful tips to help you grow organic tomatoes indoors.

The first thing you will need to do is find a place to grow them.  Some place that is near the window or places that offer a lot of sunlight is best.  If that’s not possible, another option would be to use artificial lights to help them grow, especially during the winter season when it’s usually cold and dark outside.

The next thing to consider is the temperature in which they grow in.  Organic tomatoes only thrives in warm weather so it is recommended to keep the temperature around 70 degrees Fahrenheit.

The last thing to consider is the size of the pot or container.  You should get one that will be big enough for the tomato plants to grow without any problems.  Since there are many varieties of tomato out there, it’s best to find out how large they will grow.

Once you have everything, you can start planting the seeds.  Before actually putting them in the container, you’ll want to use a peat pot to germinate the seeds with a seed starter mix first.  Once the seedlings reaches about 3 inches tall, you can then transport them to the larger container.

Organic tomatoes can thrive anywhere as long as the temperature is right and there are plenty of sun light and water.  When growing organic tomatoes indoors, you will have access to fresh tomatoes all year round.
